Chris Wilson
What does this mean, should I be bothered? Thanks. http://www.gatesgarth.com/ebay.jpg from this potential purchase: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230248835903&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=

Chris Wilson
Anyone? Need to pay for this if it's not dodgy.
JustGav
It looks okay, as the domain name is securepromo.ebay.co.uk.. Understand the caution, as you can never be too sure... if it was me I'd be okay with it.
wHIZz
I don't like the look of it - never seen it in my seven years of ebay-ing at that stage of the process (although I know exactly what it is). I would close the browser, clear out your cache settings etc and open a new browser - go to ebay page and pay for it. Then you know you have gone through the proper ebay site wHIZz
JustGav
Both websites are in the same IP subnet block, so I'd reckon it is okay > securepromo.ebay.co.uk Server: xxxx Address: 192.168.1.91 Name: securepromo.ebay.co.uk Addresses: 66.135.211.154, 66.135.203.154 > http://www.ebay.co.uk Server: xxxx Address: 192.168.1.91 Non-authoritative answer: Name: hp-intl-uk.ebay.com Addresses: 66.135.200.146, 66.135.210.64 Aliases: http://www.ebay.co.uk

Chris Wilson
Cleared the cache and went via a fresh Ebay page, no sign of the pop up and payment now made, thanks. I use Windows 2000 as I am used to it, it's stable and does all I need. The Bat is probably the best e-mail client for Windows out there, IMHO. Not well known, but secure with a huge range of useful features. http://www.ritlabs.com Thanks for your help everyone
