Marty
Whist reversing my car off the drive the other day i noticed a bit of an oil patch on the floor directly below where the engine usually rests. After further inspection the leak seems to be coming from the top of the engine, at the rear, from 'rocker cover gasket' ( i think this is the correct name for it). Not being fully up to speed on the engine mechanics yet i was wondering how hard these are to change? it doesnt look too bad but im a bit dubious with it being a supra engine, so thought id ask first b4 jumping in at the deep end. Would i be better off gettin a mechanic to do it or is it a pretty simple job? Thanks

suprabrown
Not done this on a MKiv yet......so probably no help but......... I had the same problem on my mkiiiT, new gaskets and a couple of hours sorted the leak out. Don't bother trying to over tighten the fastners to try and seal the leak,,,, the new gaskets usually fix it first time. If you are still having problems, a smear of hylomar blue could help, cheers mark
