Anyone know of a UK supplier for those polishing parts used in the pics and in the little Vid?

That is a very handy guide and doesnt *look* too difficult to do...I want this done but i cant find any one to do it, so i might have to do it myself!

Guest mattsupra

good job danny

ive also done a lot of polishing over the years but a good friend to my dad and me passed away after many many years of breathing in polishing fumes (if you can call it that) or dust and he got told many times to stop doing it by his doctor

so as already said take care when doing it and at least get a mask

Does doing this reduce the stength of the parts much? I imagine it would do a tiny bit right - if you are filing done casting joints etc. Just wondering :)

wouldnt of thought it would be an issue, doubt the castings are made to any great degree of tolerance that is affected by the small amount taken off.

lol... sorry mate!! i used some small bits that look like small mops to use with a hand machine type thing(sorry dont know the name)...

are we talking felt bobbins here or sisal mops such as http://www.perfectpolishingkits.co.uk/mvc_005fa.jpg

i have been toying with getting a flexible shaft type arrangement to fix onto my bench grinding machine as the dremmel thing i have aint man enough, but there pretty pricey to get if its not gona be suitable..
