That's true, it wouldn't have all the bells and whistles, but it's a lot cheaper :D

 

You could hook up a switch to disconnect the solenoid, i.e. revert to whatever baseline boost is. That's an on/off at least :)

 

It sounds like it would have pretty good control over boost in terms of spiking/creeping. :search:

Done something similar with another brand of ECU, You can even set it up so that you have a compensation for different air temps based on a IAT correction Inj factor.

 

Best to have it in a closed loop setup though.

Thanks guys - since noones said it's a silly idea, I'm going to give it a try. I've ordered up some solenoids to play around with :)

Wouldn't it be closed loop though since the sub-injector map is based on MAP and rpm?

Ah right, of course. There'll be nothing in the map that tells it the target pressure. And the rows above the target pressure can't be reduced by much or it will start oscillating. Hmm, gonna have to be real careful setting this up!
