inst the whole console just a bit gimmicky :taped:

I think you have to respect them for making such a group orientated console / games combo that gives an incentive to compete against people face to face. It's the gimmick side of it that makes it what it is, has to be a lot of fun for those folks who have a regular group of friends or family round.

dont get me wrong, the idea behind the console is commendable but i think its showcased as being the next step in console technology (not referring to the graphics), when similar technology was used with the SNES Scope. The real gimmick though is all the add-ons.

I quite like the wii for what it is; i think the next step on from board games ;)

i do, and think its ace! just wondered what other people think?

ive set myself a goal to get rid of 4lbs by next week even though i have ideal weight but wanna see if it works! lol

I'm not convinced by it, the sun coming out is enough incentive for me to get fit(ter) and I won't have to look at a screen to do it.

Interested to know how you get on with it though ;).

I've got one & I think it's wicked!! :D.. I've been trying to get on it at least once a day to see if i can lose some weight! Apparently i'm overweight but not obese! phew!... There's tons of exercises and games on it & i've still got loads more to unlock! :) For those who doubt it, it's definitely not a gimmick! It's surprising how knackered you are after about half an hour! :D

Did you reach your goal?

Genuinely interested as to whether it's just a gimmick or whether it works?

I'm sure thats what anyone whos never played the proper games on it would say.

But when you play games like COD3 on the PS3 then turn on the Wii version, you appriciate how much more fun the Wii version is. then games such as PRO evo8. games such as Zelda and Mario etc, its all made so much more interactive due to the controls. Its not perfect mind but while i have both the PS3 and the Wii, i seem to always buy games for the Wii first. Just imagine GTA4 with the remote. the most annoying part of GTA 4, aiming your gun and moving the camera around would be instantly made perfect. It just wouldnt look as good!

On a serious note however, i havent go one myself, but i've heard its a great motivator, and if your one of those people that doesnt do much exercise then it adds a bit of fun, plus you can monitor your progress. Jurys out though until i've had a bash though but if i was going off what others that have one say they yeah its seems to be a great idea and a fun "game" if you will.

Is definately a great motivator, even my dad has had a go on it. My mum has seen a slight decrease in BMI and weight and has been on it just as much as me.

My BMI has gone up and down though, however i am in ideal so not to bothered:D

Just out of interest for you lot that have it, do you do a body test every day?

As i found out no chance of getting a store one, best bet is on eBay but your looking at paying around the £90 mark.
