Who did you vote for today?

Its the amount of postions that are alocated in each different constituent, why do we have to pay these f*cking idiots salaries and expenses to sit around a table and debate about what they are going to do...i.e after already spending millions of pounds on surveys/reports, consultants, advisors, accountants, lawyers, sometimes taking up years, they will turn around and just scrap projects....thinking nothing of it

Not really an alternative though is there, other than a dictatorship? And like most people on this forum you seem to be confusing local authority councillors (which is who these elections affect) with MPs. Councillors get a relatively small allowance for their work (which is public information FYI) but are otherwise unpaid.

Most people's attitude on here seems to be "I don't know who they are, what they've done, or what they're planning to do..... but I hate them and I know they're all evil". Balanced opinion then eh?

You must be seeing something I'm not Mr Soop. They all make promises to get elected and then go on a four/five year holiday as they feel like the hard work was done getting elected......:( I doubt Mr Cameron would be any different!!

H.

Yeh that is all true. Its just that the conservatives have told us that they can help us by reversing the damage labour have caused but it will

take 4 years to actually properly undo it...

I think this is one of the reasons why most of the country has voted conservatives because their ways of doing things and the promises they

have made, seem better compared to labour, Havard :)

i like the way that boris conducted himself in a recent interview by some female reporter, he was asked "have you ever had sex with a man?" to which he replied "not yet, have you?"

much better than Ken "im as interesting as a radish" livingstone

I thought when the Tories were last in power it wasn't too bad (kicked out due to the what was then thought pretty bad 'sleaze' weren't they?), interest rates were stabilising and ideally balanced, petrol was way less than a quid (), ok we had the usual taxes but not as bad as they're now, also I don't believe Brown was some Chancellor genius either he just inherited a strong economy from the Tories and now we're seeing the fruits of his management i.e pension problems resulting in just ceased strike. And then there's the state of society now  blah blah drone drone

was just reading that. Be interesting to see if labour can bounce back, even though bad performance at local level doesnt necessarily mean they are out in the next general election. Would brown step down ever? Maybe a black guy or a woman can take his place. Just to make it interesting like in the states.

Very few of us would be able to afford our supras if it wasn't for the strong economy that labour has given us. I think many people here are either too young to realise how hideous things were for us under the tories. True labour have their faults, I am no fan of party politics, but to think that the tories will bring about the prosperity that we have witnessed these past few years (and YES they have been prosperous!!!) then let's wait and see... I know what the tory mentality is like, and it's not pretty!

Economy growths and drops are sinusoidal. Seems that Tories lost power, when economy was on the way up and Labour just profited on boom (+ additional money from 120+ new taxes imposed) and now running out from sinking ship :p

Maybe I am too young then, I went to work when Labour were voted in.

Did we really have prosperity or the illusion of it due to the ludicrously priced housing market and easy access to credit that will now lead to a lot of bankrupties/IVAs this year and next.
