Pete
I bought a set of these - http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Earphones/SEModels/us_pa_se420_content Absolutely amazing sound. They fit like ear plugs so you can't hear anything from the outside world, brilliant on a plane.

I couldn't justify spending more than that on some headphones!
Pete
You've some money to burn then! My old E3C's are the equivalent of the new SE210... I couldn't justify spending more than that on some headphones! Well it went like this... I bought the lower ones in the range duty free but then the plastic started to split on the surround so I took them back and upgraded to the next set up whilst I was at it. Only a few quid extra right? Anyway, those sounded bad in one side so they went back for a full refund so I thought hell...I might as well go a model up - it's only a few extra quid right? So I now have spent £175 on some headphones - which seems a bit mad but they are dual speakers and do sound the dogs danglies.
colsoop
Another vote for the sennheisser, i am on my second set of cx 300's. They come with different sized rubber inserts so you can get the right fit for your ear. Be warned though they do block out a lot of noise so you should probably drop the volume on your mp3's a couple of notches as it can be very loud. Pot
You haven't mentioned budget but the cheap Sennheiser CX300's punch well above their price would indicate, good bass, block out most of the background noise, well built and comfortable. I agree, I've bought some of these, and considering they were only £40 (Currys Digital), they're fantastic headphones, I wear them for nearly 7 hours a day and they're very comfortable... michael
Crikey, I think I paid around half that for mine, they are still very good though, even at £

Actually by quoting you and saying i was going to say the same thing aren't i in fact saying the same thing in reply ?
