Pabs
PS3 - great system but good games are few and far between got bored, sold it and bought a new PC. I do actually agree with this too, but I think because it is the newest console out there, it'll mean that the games haven't been developed yet. I recon the PS3 will have many fantastic games coming out soon!
Pete
Downloading... saving... saving some more... installing... downloading... please do not switch off the system... downloading... I think that just about sums it up for me so far. Not much different to setting up a new Windows box then really.

Nobody can be arsed to convert sonic the bleadin headgehog to use fancy shaders and gubbins
Bobbeh
Thats why GTA4 was delayed, it was written for the X-Box a while back, but the PS3 version delayed it due to the PITA it is to develop on... although they have updated the programming methods to make it easier on developers. Mike
Which probably explains why the downloadable content is only available on XBox Six new game episodes coming in September...
Bobbeh
... well the developers of GTA have switched exclusivity to Microsoft after this release I believe... so this may be the last GTA on the PS for a while :|
michael
With the price of a basic XBox as it is it's not going to be too much of a hardship to pick one up just to play a couple of the exclusives should that happen.

Ian C
I'm glad consoles are becoming more troublesome, maybe they'll fall by the wayside soon and we'll start getting games deeper than "updownleftrightfire ooh explosions". Like we had ten flipping years ago before these ADHD blights turned up to satisfy the masses grrrrrr

Multics
I found a GTA4 comparison between xbox 360 and PS3. Interesting... http://www.videogamer.com/features/article/29-04-2008-389.html
MrRalphMan
What's the Media streaming like on the PS3? Tried using the Wii, Internet Channel and Tversity and it was a Pile of Poop.

Like we had ten flipping years ago before these ADHD blights turned up to satisfy the masses grrrrrr Amen to that! I get the impression that the "Next gen" (not sure why its called this as it seems to be stuck in the dark ages tech wise) guys seem to be around 90% graphics 5% gameplay and 5% content. I mean take Call of Duty 4 for example, the first CoD game was epic real big CoD4 whilst a good game seemed a little dumbed down and short. Same with Medel of Honour wtf was that about? The last level was like something out of James bond! If I wanted to storm an imaginary building of doom I would play MGS! Not what is supose to be a realistic WW2 shooter! lockys96
I came out of the update download when it seemed like it would take 9 days to complete and had a couple of laps in a Ford Focus - graphics are impressive, physics seem well sorted, AI is vastly better but I need time to get used to playing with the control pad mushrooms again after being PC & wheel orientated for a good few years. Then I let it download the update again, it failed... and again... then again... I started it off again this morning and left for work, I suspect it's failed by now. try it in simulation, and when you complete it you can modify suspension and tweek power/ratio. my lotus exige drifts like a god. Scott
Only the ones that are trying to be more than just consoles. Cant believe you think the best ever games came out on PC's... the SNES and the N64 were the golden days Pffttt the Spectrum and the Amiga beat the sh1t out of all that new fangled crap. I'm with you on the Wii though Matt, for a pick up and play console it can't be beat.

Cant believe you think the best ever games came out on PC's... the SNES and the N64 were the golden days Shame thats where Nintendo is stuck, played on a Wii for the first time last night, and sure it was good fun with the interactiveness but its the same old game formats, the same characters.. nothing new since the SNES imho. Its deffo worth buying as an alternative to a PS3/X-Box and its great to play with friends and family, so I'll credit Nintendo for creating a system that involves more people in gaming. michael
Prolugue update finally downloaded last night - had a bit of a play online, was generally impressed with the experience. I have a "friend" now too so it's all getting rather jolly. I just need some more games, Prologue looks pretty and all that but it's not going to keep me amused forever
Havard
I just need some more games, Prologue looks pretty and all that but it's not going to keep me amused forever Does the lack of damage not bother you Michael. I can't play games that don't have realistic damage, which is why I hardly play driving games any more....... I lost interst in GT4 on the PS2 as I could bash my way to the front with an inferior car..... H.
marc_p
Wii: Awesome for fifteen minutes, then becomes the most irritaing thing on the planet. But if your drunk with mates it IS the best thing on the planet for hours on end and is a usefull tool for any party. PS3: Great graphics and gameplay, never had any installing/downloading failed messages but the system updates do get annoying. XBOX: Pile of w@nk
