Fuel line from tank to filter grrrrrr

Recommended Posts

I just tried to change my fuel filter, but the thread is buggered and I cant do it up, leaks fuel.

Had this with my master cylinder and had to replace the whole pipe.

Now, should I get another OEM?how much?

Or should I get a braided line from the tank to the fuel filter? how much? who from?

Thanks

Yeah already removed all that, just the clips are a bugger, will try again when I've got the new bit.

Bugger of a day, I've been out there since 9 this morning working, and this was the last job... was looking forward to a run... sob.

Changing the fuel filter on Soarers can be such a PITA that one of the specialists had this made.

One end is the same as the original, and the other is a compression joint that is made to connect to the original pipe once the twisted damaged pipe is cut off.

I'm guessing that the Supra is similar to the Soarer.

Ok, so if you can make one, I guess I'd just hack saw the pipe a little way back, and push in the new bit?

You will still need to cut the pipe smoothly, slip a fitting over the end and flare the pipe to ensure a good seal . Machinemart will supply you with one, you only need the basic kit.
