stevie_b
Have you seen the headlines on the Daily Mail / Daily Express this morning? Basically designed to whip people up into a frenzy and cause panic buying.
MARTIN R
serious panic buying already happening up here and some petrol stations are rationing fuel to £15 per customer. I am ok though as work have plenty;)
Gaz Walker
Was busy at all local stations today. It would by better if the media just STFU sometimes
Ian W
Awesome. Should make for an amusing drive back up the road tomorrow. 300 miles to a tank, less than half a tank and a 140ish mile journey
Steve
Had to fill up the birds car yesterday, but it was empty. The queues werent to bad. If it does get really bad, i will syphon some out of the supe (full tank in it) and stick it in her car, as mine is off the road still. Pete
It would by better if the media just STFU sometimes Well they do on the really serious issues that the government do not want you to know. Classic example was how they forced a media black out on Prince Harry in the army for fear of his safety. There is evidence they can and will do it. The environment changing is a convenient excuse to blame it on fuel pollution and here's my theory on the truth: We're running out of oil We require more energy everyday (Did you know China only has 12 days of coal reserves left?) There is currently no viable alternative to fuel for transport So in the face of the inevitable that oil will be gone in 20 years what's the best way to start getting people into the idea of rationing (smaller cars, reduce plastic bags etc) than whacking up the costs? (Conspiracy theory following) I'm pretty sure the governments of this world have some kind of long term plan (Imagine how powerful Iraq et al will become!?) to try and reduce the chaos that will ensue when the oil really isn't available. We all have to wake up and face this simple fact - in our life time we are going to see some incredible changes. If the government wanted to avert this latest inevitable fuel crises they could've done - they're mentally conditioning us. We'll become totally dependent on electricity and I imagine all those nasty nuclear power stations they plan to build will soon be embraced with open arms. Does anyone have any proper data on when oil is meant to run out? I suspect this is fairly tightly controlled too.
ivan
Oh dear, I suppose this means the country will be empty by the time we get back in a couple of weeks then.
