Pete
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7367488.stm So it seems the UK is losing "a third of its oil output" with the Forties oil pipeline being shutdown. Headline news on the News at Ten and the BBC website I don't expect it'll be long before Joe Public has echoes of images appearing in their minds of petrol stations closed with red tape around them and make shift card board signs with "Out of Fuel' written upon them. That won't help much.

SteveR
I said yesterday that as soon as the story hits the 6 o'clock news, the sheeple will wake up and start panic buying. I was going to, but decided I was 'above all that' and besides, the queue was too big, so I didn't bother. lol
Havard
I'm hoping I don't get any and my car runs out. Then I don't need to go to work.....

Pot
The only thing that worries me/annoys me is when I crashed my Sup last year Optimax/V-Power was 100.9 in Cheltenham, it's now 116.9 (I just phoned the petrol station to ask), I know it's not as much of an increase as some places, but that's 'around' 16% up in one year?... For crying out loud!!!.... *Crying out loud* Did it help? No? Guess not... Like what can/are we going to do about it?...

Mike M
Our shell station had no diesel and just a couple of unleaded pumps online, no probs with V power though. Tesco seems to be fully stocked up for now anyway. Seen one bloke filling up a large container with Diesel, amazing how diesel is running out first now compared to how popular it used to be. Pot
As true brits we will bend over and take the full length and gurth. Exactly right, I wish I knew how to start a revolution in this country, I just see 3 obstacles in my way... 1) Being able to get my point across to the whole country to round up those of us who see common sense... Without using such stupid terms as 'Carbon Footprint' (Exclusion - Below) 2) Getting around the 'Middle Class Family types with the 4x4's to take little ginger Johnny to School who think their Carbon Footprint's the size of a 4 year old's as they shop at Waitrose and fill a small Recycle bin each month' 3) Being able to spend enough time to do it instead of working a minimum of 60 hours a week to keep myself in a home (Rented, not owned (I can't afford to buy one in the town I've lived in all my life unless I move to a 5|-|!thole)) - So I can concentrate on it... Reflected in the fact its now more expensive than petrol... Fookin government, Dick Turpin wore a mask... Just goes to show, someone can write something on a piece of paper, and it's more powerfull than a mask and gun...

Konrad
Exactly right, I wish I knew how to start a revolution in this country, I just see 3 obstacles in my way... 1) Being able to get my point across to the whole country to round up those of us who see common sense... Without using such stupid terms as 'Carbon Footprint' (Exclusion - Below) You can struggle with this one because not many left. As from outsider point of view, I could swear, that those who are currently running this country made EVERYTHING to wipe out "common sense" definition from dictionaries. About carbon footprint - it sounds as a perfect excuse to gather some free money from average Joe, he - like it was mentioned above - will just bend and pay.
