SupraGirlie
I have recently bought a supra which came with a clifford 650, I hate the damn alarm, it has immobilised, and will not work, no chirps, nothing, so I can't start the engine, it is in the middle of a car park not even locked!!! The blue LED in the fob lights up when I press a button and I have been told to unconnect the car battery, I haven't got a clue how to do this!! I called a specialist who can't come out but he reckons it is in valet mode, but I don't know the code!! So I am stuck lol
TopgunTT
Clifford 650 alarms come with a unique 4 digit code to put in to disarm it, can you contact the previous owner?
bluecoup
buy the battery they mean the big thing in the bottom front right hand corner, think it should be a 10mm spanner, just loosen and slide one off leave a few seconds and reconnect,

He doesn't know anything about it, I already tried him It's driving me mental now I just want to get it home! The dash board lights came on a sec ago then I turned the key and they went off! I will try and disconnect the battery
SupraGirlie
I just literally touched the battery bolt witha spanner to un do it, and the alarm beeped 4 times, then went mental!!! Which made me jump out of my skin! Then the car started, god I think the alarm has issues!!
TopgunTT
It would pay to try and find out the code for future reference
Pabs
Perhaps you have a dodgy battery connection for the alarm - which would indicate that when the alarm has no main battery, it is fully imobilised and won't operate. Clifford alarms are designed so that they get set off when the power is reconnected, unless the alarm was put into valet mode before disconnecting the battery. tomgeer
It would pay to try and find out the code for future reference This may sound stupid but how do you type in the 4 digit code and when? thanks
Pabs
This may sound stupid but how do you type in the 4 digit code and when? thanks Depending on your particular setup, there should be a 2 button switch somewhere in the car, usually on the dash board - the code is entered using these 2 buttons. Alternatively, some alarms (mine in particular) has the ability to enter valet mode vai the remote control, pressing a couple of buttons. This can be enabled/disabled from the Cliffnet software. Scott
Just fyi its not always a 4 digit code. Can be any amount of digits between 1 and 4 as far as i know.
TopgunTT
My 2 button switch was hidden out of view in the car so it may not be that easy to find.

Well my Clifford specialist is coming out to me on monday to give it a service so hopefully that will not happen again! Was extremly frustrating! Scott
Sounds to me like it was nothing to do with your alarm and instead it was a loose connection on your battery. The fact that it sparked when you put the spanner to it suggests that it wasn't connected at all. Were the lights and everything working while you were having trouble? SupraGirlie
buy the battery they mean the big thing in the bottom front right hand corner Ahhhhh, thanks for clearing that one up for me, there was me thinking it was the 'Flux Capacitor' for all these years
Scott
No, nothing was working at all! Was completely immobilised! I am sure I will find out what the problem is when my specialist comes to take a look It was the battery terminal. Wasn't hooked up properly. When your alarm immobilises your car everything on it will still work cept the ignition and probably the fuel pump. Radio, lights, leccy windows etc will all still work fine. Had someone been working on your car recently?

SupraGirlie
Yeah the negative terminal was very loose, so tightened it up, seems ok now, still going to get it serviced though!

Pabs
Ah I'd wondered what those 2 little buttons did, thanks for that To enter a code, the bottom button is like the "next character" button - at least that's how I think of it. So, to enter a code of, for example, 4343, you would press top button 4 times, then the bottom one once, then top 3 times, then bottom once, then top 4 times.... etc etc. TBH it can take a while to enter the code, so I just use the remote valet feature if/when I need it. I believe those 2 buttons are also used to enter the code if you use blackjax (I don't have this enabled)
Scott
blackjax (I don't have this enabled) You really should to be honest. Also, remember that not everyone will have the buttons aligned the same way as yourself. You refer to them as top and bottom, in my car they are left and right
