how_supra
In dec 2002 a friend of mine was was sat her car with the keys in the ignition with the heaters on waiting for a taxi. Yes she was drunk and the police caught her sat there, being drunk, she then tried to run off (still makes me laugh today) and subsequently got a 28 month ban, (and 100 hours community service). Now that 28 month period is over, she is looking for a car which is going to be cheap to insure and a company that will insure her. Does anyone have any ideas??? She's 26 years old. Does Average annual mileage and doesn't care if its a shopping trolley I guess. Something like a fiesta or a fiat perhaps?? But insurance company's are not going to want to insure her for a reasonable price are they??
Jake
It's not as hard as you might think to get insurance after a DR10. I was banned in Sept '97 for 12 months (2 points over the limit, not remotely pissed, blah blah) After the ban was up I found that insurance had gone up in price by about 100% but I was still able to get cover easily enough. IIRC I went with Tesco when I first got my license back.

Jake
Jake, thanks for that! What car did you have?? Was that with your Supra? or something else? I had a Peugeot 405 SRi repmobile at the time I got banned. When I got my license back I had the not cheap task of insuring a Honda Fireblade and a nondescript Audi 80 I hadn't been using the Audi to get to work for previous 6 months, honest guv. how_supra
Sabrina, don't forget Sophies' Steve came off his drink drive ban and now he's insured. Steve has no concept of money though, he probably paid through the roof for his insurance just because he thinks that the more you pay for something the more hardcore that makes you. Have you heard ought about his speeding ban yet?
