Fitting AEM UEGO wideband

When my new GReddy pillar pod lands from Nic. I will be re-locating my Blitz MD boost gauge into it. I will also fitting the AEM UEGO I have purchased into it.

Has anybody got any advice on fitting it. Where should the take-off be welded (into 1st or 2nd CAT?), also what will be the best way to wire it all in. I have read that the UEGO can be wired to the ignition, does that sound alright? Which way is the best way of running the sensor line into the cockpit.etc.etc.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

There are a few threads on this, have a quick search for piccies etc.

The best place would be to locate in the 2nd decat, AEM specifies a certain distance from the tubbies along with an optimum angle IIRC (can't remember off hand)

Once fitted there is a grommet that comes in to the passenger footwell from under the car, this would be a good bet to get the wiring inside of the car.

Just make sure you get a good earth :)

Just to revive this a little, I will be fitting the AEM in the next few days (weather permitting). What's the best place to earth the gauge to get a good earth? It will be in an a-pillar pod so at the right side of the dash.

Also what will be the best place for the power bearing in mind it should have a 10 amp fused power feed?

Thanks again!

Most folks go for the cigarette lighter for both power and ground.

A search would have found that ;)

Yes I have searched but seem to get conflicting info. about the lighter also giving faulty readings.

I have 15 tabs open at the moment trying to read up from the search results, most of them offer different opinions on wiring. :)
