Pabs
Hey all, As per title, I need a recommended tyre supplier and fitter near to Basingstoke please. I need 285/30/19 tyres, and decent ish tyres, not cheap cr*p... I've tried the usual places such as Micheldever etc, but nobody has any stock or can't get them... which I think is unusual. Some places have even said they will not fit tyres that I've purchased elsewhere (such as mytyres or whatever) which I can partially understand, but I need tyres soon ish as I don't want to keep driving on the current ones (large nail in 1, and both tyres quite badly perishing) Contact details for your recommended garage (phone #) if you've got it would be good too. thanks folks! I will ring them tomorrow, and hopefully they'll either have some in stock or be able to order some for me. They always order them in, they have an overnight delivery every day...bar Sunday. So, I would not expect for them to have any 19" in stock. If you have makes/models in mind, spend a little time on the phone with them and get quotes for each one... They are very busy but, always pick up the phone!
Supra-Brett
You should try Specialised Paintwork behind the Porsche garage just off Junc 12 M4. They get all the part worn porsche tyres for cheap prices. You are therfore restricted to Porsche tyre sizes but i do know that they do a 295/35/19 as that is the 996 tyre. They also do a 265/35/19, off the boxter but im not sure about other sizes. I got a pair of 295/35/19s for mine for £85 + VAT and they are like new. Pabs
damn, Micheldever tell me all tyres in 285/30/19 are on back order, and can't get hold of any..... Waiting for Bracknell Tyres to call me back... anyone else know where I could get some? Admittedly I didn't think it would be this hard to get tyres locally... Gaz6002
Why don't you get some mail order and get them fitted locally?

It will take you 35mins and can be found under post code RG12 1RL Yep, use these guys, just got two F1's fitted for £303 (275/30/19's) on Saturday. They might be a little weary though as it took them a long time to get mine sorted, had trouble getting the tyres off the wheels:innocent: was there for a long time.... They had to jack underneath the rear of the car due to it being lowered and neons underneath (couldn't fit on the ramps). If this isn't the case for you let them know and they'll probably be happier to oblidge;)
Pabs
Why don't you get some mail order and get them fitted locally? as per my first post, most of the garages have said they will only fit tyres that they supply.... which is annoying. Been on the phone to Micheldever again though and they have said that they will fit tyres I supply. So this looks like my only option. I get mine from their and have no issues (same size 285/30/19) most of the time i arrive without checking and they have a set that i can put straight on.... i use Falkan 452's which are very good i must say, alot of people on here think they are good to. SBDJ
I usually use Micheldever as well, very unusual for them to not have a suitable tyre in

Pabs
I've found Falken 452's in 285/35/19...... so it's a bigger profile. I need to see what difference that has in rolling diameter...

Pabs
I had my R888s fitted at Toyota in Basingstoke for £10. Ah ok, I wonder if they'll do mine then. Might try speaking to them. Had a thought though, I could go for 285/35/19's, which then gives me the option of the Falken 452's, which are also a bit cheaper. Micheldever do these. Difference in sidewall is about 1/2 inch, meaning overall diameter is an inch extra. Really not sure if these would fit or not, plus it means that they are bigger than stock wheels/tyres. What do people think?
GlennK
You could try Lynchford Tyres - I've used them for my BMW tyres. Not bad prices. and they've got a place in Kings Road Fleet, and one in North Camp. Tel No: 01252 816
Gaz6002
You do mean cm rather than inches yes? As in it's half a cm bigger, or an extra cm to the overall diameter... Some good info here: http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html
Pabs
No, I'm sure I mean inches: From here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html 285/30/19 - Sidewall 3.4in, radius 12.9in, diameter 25.7in. 285/35/19 - Sidewall 3.9in, radius 13.4in, diameter 26.9in. Is this wrong then?
Gaz6002
I thought you were referring to the aspect ratio, which is 5mm or a half cm. The easy way to look at it is there is a 4.5% difference between the speed you do and the speed your speedo reads.
Pabs
I'm just more worried about if the 35 profile tyres will actually fit without rubbing. I've got 35 profile tyres on the front that do rub on near full-lock (with the wheel arch liner) so don't want issues at the rear of the car as well. Gaz6002
You could always get the arches rolled. Mine are 275/35/18s and I had to get mine done. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=146527
