michael
Anyone want to get the ball rolling on the terrorist thing or should we wait? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/7360858.stm Seems an odd location for anything sinister IMO. marbleapple
don't know although i would say i wouldn't fancy being any closer if it did go off. Just seems a tad excessive... a ww2 bomb wouldnt take out a mile of land... there would be no London left if that were the case.

In London (or any built up area) there's lots to get in the way of a blast to take the energy out of the explosion. The one at Lowestoft is on the beach - the shock wave can travel a long way over empty space and still have enough energy in it to do damage. From the news report I've seen, it seems the exclusion zone as a mile wide - i.e. 1/2 a mile in every direction around the bomb.
Carl_S
Doesn't look glamours enough for a terrorist target. I remeber when buncefield went off though, my cat flap lifted.
