I was on a promise one Saturday night, but was saved by a witty guy who shouted out across the pool hall "hey Ewen, your girlfiends outside in her pram". She turned out to be 12. Putting aside the fact that girls these days look older than they are, Im with Jake on this....a line has to be drawn in law as far as legal age...but there must be some element of judgement involved when it involves individual circumstances, your 14 year old and 16 year old example, er, for example is far less horrific than a 14 year old and a teacher or similar. We were discussing old GF's, etc and someone mentioned how pretty much every one of us would have now been classed as sex offenders For example, most of them had GF's in our school year when they were 15, however, as soon as one of the partners reach 16 they are, in the eyes of the law, a sex offender. None of us ever considered or discussed it at the time as no one cared. However those circumstances are not the reason for the law (which I think is correct to keep in place). However there does need to be some interpretation between the ages of the people involved. But if you're 16 you know if you sleep with someone 15 that it's illegal - or do kids not know? It's normally the parents that get involved when they're still kids really - well, they did when I was a child, now most kids have kids!
