AndrewOW
Unbelievable. Then again it is believable! How far can anyone let this go? He'll bankrupt the nation before anything is done, and it'll set them back all the years Mugabe tried to improve.
JustGav
He'll bankrupt the nation They are well past it... when the currency inflates at the silly rate, it means nothing. They are back at the bartering stage in the economy, the paper doesn't matter any more.

JamesG
I've just read that. They are knocking off ten zeros, so 10 billion becomes one dollar. I would have thought that nine zeros would make the maths easier. Sadly, the 1 trillion dollar note is but a pipedream

Carl_S
I'm sure I am looking at this with over-simplicity, but the reason why we don't go in is that we are most of us are white and most of them are black, and we are seen as the bad guys for our colonial role. Would be interesting - and highly impractical, if we (and our U.S, bros) did intervene but with a black only contingent. My knowledge is less than 0.001% on the subject so what is really going on here, who knows? But yeah Mugabe is a wag and a cur.
