Burna
One is painted, the other is a diamond cut finish but the plastic coating has come away and the metal face is being attacked by the elements. That's what they look like to me

tobyg
Was thinking of selling them, have run them on my Supra for 2 years, I know they need a refurbish, but I hadn't spotted they are not identical. On the back the text says The one with the lip : Borbet ET40 PCD 114,3 Made in Germany TTE 85840 96 36 The one without the lip : Borbet ET40 PCD 114,3 Made in Germany TTE 85840 96 25 Why is nothing ever simple? Anybody know about the difference ?
AndrewOW
Maybe when it was refurbed the lip was so damaged that they removed it to make it an easier job. I wouldn't know if that would affect the tyre placement or not, but the other wheel does seem very scuffed, so maybe thats the case
marc_p
So did you have both of these wheels on the car at the same time even though they look different ie. one silver and one black and silver
tobyg
yes, but you could only see one of them at a time as they were opposite each other. I know I should be ashamed of myself.....

Franko
perhaps the diamond cut one requires a lip so the seal which protects it is covered from damage thus making it survive the weather better? P.s Just a guess
