Jamesy
Brighton fan here - too little too late i think, 4 points off DIRTY Leeds with 2 to play. Probably finish 7th which is officially the WORST position except relegation!!

Jamesy
Why "dirty" Leeds? Come off it mate - surely you dont REALLY have to ask that question?? ask most fans of most clubs what they think of Leeds and i reckon you'll get the same kinda response. Anyone else feelin the same with their team? My Girlfriends family are from stoke so since the 2 and a half years we've been together Ive always been keeping an eye on them. Her dad and brother a big fans. They are so close now and Im sure they can do it, but they do struggle against the lower teams. Im sure palace will be hull though, dont know who Bristol have. I promised them both that I would get them tickets for the utd game at old trafford next season (if they go up) as Im a Utd fan. It'll be nice for them in the upper tier of the stratford end trying to keep quiet:eyebrows:
Jamesy
So, no facts to back it up then just a general dislike. yes a general dislike too!! i've been up to Elland road a few times with Brighton and its always "interesting" to say the least - dont get me wrong going away to Millwall and Cardiff is about the same and puts a nice bit of edge to the atmosphere...... ..they have a lying, cheating **** for an owner/chairman and whereas most other clubs after being to deceitful would hang their heads in shame, Leeds feel the need to try and worm there way back up the league as they are now realising they arent a big club anymore. 15 points back would be a travisty for football - but the FL being such cowards will prob buckle under Bates protests. ...AND breathe... i dont wanna go on anymore as i could write for PAGES about how Leeds are my 2nd least favouite team in the world! (behind Palace of course!!)

So, if an independent arbitration panel decide that it was unlawful (and therefore unfair) to have given Leeds united a 15 point penalty, you believe we would have "cheated" our way up the league? If they decide that Leeds did nothing wrong then we would still be wrong in your eyes? Please grow up and take off the blinkers mate. On the football field this season we have secured the second most amount of points over the season. We have the second best goal difference and therefore, should we get our points back we would be given only what we have already won. So, Leeds are not a big club anymore? If that is the case I hate to think what your pathetic little outfit is classed as then.

CJ
ha ha - i KNEW this would turn into this but hey ho... the ONLY reason your club is near the top of the league is due to you "claiming" not to be able to pay your debts.... furthermore you have proceeded this season to buy big again with players you shouldn't be allowed to buy due to the fact you havent paid your previous bills..... you took a golden handshake this season to allow you to still be in the league, albeit with a -15 points start - now you didnt quite manage to blow every1 away in this tin pot league your flapping. a much fairer outcome at the end of last season would have been to boot you out the league (Aldershot style). i have no blinkers on mate, we are a small club, but at least we know it. anyway like i said its nowt persoanl, i just cannot stand Leeds. Oh dear Lord - you haven't got a clue have you. Firstly, we went into administration due to the HMRC demanding immediate payment (as is their right) for unpaid duties. This despite the fact that we had been making regular payments and had dropped their exposure considerably. Once they did this, we (the same as any other business) had no alternative but to declare that we were insolvent as not to do so is illegal in the eyes of the law. So, firstly, we didn't claim anything. If there had been subterfuge and skulduggery then do you think that KMPG (one of the biggest administration companies in the world) would have allowed it? Of course not. To suggest otherwise is nonsense. Now, after we went into administration, we then tried to get a CVA in place but the HMRC voted against as they (and in my opinion rightly so) object to the fact that the FL rules state that any CVA should come into place after all football creditors are paid first and then everyone else shares whats left. That effectively ended LUFC as they were and the administrators then had to sell the assets (such as they were) and a new company fronted by Ken Bates bought it. This is not illegal. Now, seeing as we couldn't get an arrangement for a CVA (and by the way, as the rules stand no football club going into admin will be able to) the FL said that we would have to accept a 15 point penalty or would not be allowed to rejoin the league. Of course, we agreed but immediately lodged an appeal. Notice the word immediately there. We haven't waited for the end of the season. That has come about due to the FL procrastinating and therefore, if you have a gripe against the timing, voice that to Mawhinney the FL chairman. So, whilst you may not like Leeds United, please try and read up on the facts of the whole affair before making silly comments.
hoff
Im sure you will go up through the play off anyway CJ, so all this stuff about the points being reinstated will be poinless anyway. Leeds are where they are on merit this season and all the clubs around them must be greatfull of the 15 point deduction. If Leeds do go up there cannot be any argument from any team. And if the points go back on, you have to say they deserve to be 2nd. And this is from a Man Utd fan.

Thank you friend (bloody hell, I never thought i would find myself saying that to a ManUre fan ) One crazy thing that I didn't mention in my previous post was that when Leeds initially objected to the 15 point penalty Mawhinney ( the FL chairman) then asked the Chairmen of the other clubs to vote as to whether we should get it or not. No prizes for guessing the outcome of that then eh?

And you lodged to go into administration only AFTER you were mathamatically releaged last season - convienient that.

I respond by saying that if they feel the penalty was such an advantage, maybe they should write to the FL asking if they could start off at -15 too
