silver car - which lights?

Right, i currently have some j-spec front headlights which are facelift styled. im not overly happy with these and to be fair they were a temp fix.

 

i also have a hid kit fitted to the main beam.

 

right my options are:

 

1. go for uk spec glass headlights

2. go for some proper oem facelift lights

3. stick with what i have

 

i've managed to, maybe, get hold of a set of clear lenses too. question is, do i want to fit these to a brand new set of ligths if i dont know what im doing? will look great though.

 

also, i looked but cant find a pic of the glass headlamps anywhere. my search skills seem to be asleep today.

 

last thing, will i have probs with my hid kit if i fit the uk lamps?

I was trying to get a hold of clear lenses. I am almost in your position but here is what i have...

 

1 old wrecked set of lights

1 mint set of lights

1 set of OK facelifts on my car.

3 sets of angel eyes

 

I'm planning on eventually taking the rim of the lens from the old wrecked set and getting a set of clear lenses together. For the moment i am planning on stripping down my lights, getting them sorted out with angel eyes and then putting them back together using the mint lenses. I will then refurb my lenses and put them into the older, mint, lights and sell them on.

 

Thats the plan anyway

UK Glass is Chrome

J-Spec Pre FL is Chrome

J-Spec Facelift is Grey with Chrome rings.

 

now i get ya. right then, the uk glass ones are alot cheaper than the facelift jspecs.

 

but is it worth it spending the extra to get rid of the sidelight nipple? im thinking the car will look better with clear plastic over the darker j-specs than it will with uk glass? ok the glass will be easier to maintain, no clouding, no scratches etc, but will be less aesthetically pleasing dont you think?

Perfectly clear will look much better IMO but glass is a better material, as you say, for looking after.

 

If its all about what looks best when mint then the facelifts win hands down.

 

damn, i knew that. just wanted someone to confirm. not sure my funds will stretch that far yet. time to start selling some stuff i think :)
