damientt
While installing my HIDs I had started to remove the passenger side headlight unit with the intention of putting the ballast below the headlight. I didn't get as far as removing it - I pulled it forward slightly and it didn't seem like it wanted to move much further. I replaced the mounting nuts but I've now noticed that the headlight is sitting about 4-5mm too far back leaving a slight gap between it and the bumper. Help!! Any advice appreciated. Havard
They are basically a b@stard to get in and out without a bit of encouragement. I gave mine a bit of a shove and they fitted back into place. You may find that the thread on the bolts may be catching on the holes. I was frightened of breaking mine but the are quite sturdy! H. damientt
I got the headlight back in and the bolt/nuts are seated properly. Problem is that the headlight is sitting a little too far back.
DamanC
I know they get stuck on the little plastic lug causing them to stick out but never known them to stick in too far. DO they line up with the wing?
R3DG3CKO ROB
that's weird... I usually have the problem Havard described, the bolt threads catching on the holes... Could you add some washers?
Havard
I don't understand how they can go in too far?? I always thought that the light was bigger than the hole they fit into!! H.
ivan
Unless he's missed the wing bolthole altogether?

Gadget
When putting glass ones on mine I now have about 5mm gap at the corner of each wing and where the Top secret bumper meets the inside corner of the light it sits a little further forward. Not sure what my problem is but I can't sort it
Chris Wilson
It can only be accident damage if it's out of line with the leading edge of the front wing, or maybe a poorly moulded bumper if it's a none stock one and it's just the bumper top line it sits too far back from. You say you fitted new nuts, do we assume that there were none before? Left off to mask the misalignment maybe?
damientt
Chris - it's a stock bumper. I had some wire mesh fitted and the bumper was removed. The mesh bloke says he didn't touch the lights ... but could the bumper be slightly out of line? It's fine round the driver's side headlight. By 'replaced' I meant that I put the original nuts, etc. back on.

Chris Wilson
The bumper isn't fully back, take it off and try again.
