the paper clip thing... are you sure you did it right because if there are no error codes stored the light should still flash, just not in a number sequence

yes mate thought that myself, read the tread and put it in the ones it said and turned key but no flash

Between the cam covers, there is a plate which the plugs go through, water once it gets down in that gulley it is notoriously bad for misfiring (speaking from experience twice), causes it to missfire and give it a boxy sound. Doesn't evaporate out, especially in this cold.

right tried this and it was soaking end 2 plugs dried these out , built it back up and still running same, took off distributer cap and very top of rotor arm broke off not the tip but the very top off it. would this make a diffence?

Make sure you dry it out completely, you might need to check you haven't ended up with damp HT leads as well. Replace the rotor arm personally....

  • 1 month later...
check for air leaks, is the car hunting on idle? if there's no air leak then i'd be looking at cleaning/replacing the o2 sensors, i've pretty sure the n/a has 2.

ill try cleaning these then!! replaced cap and rotor arm, with no luck still lol

and these can be taken out and cleaned?

A temporary measure is to take them out and leave them in lemons. The acid will dissolve the carbon. When I did this it lasted a few weeks. Give it a go, if your car runs better you will know what the problem is ;)
