Yes he would want liners.

The US company he knows of does V8 engine blocks with liners ready to go for $6500...but they are too busy to do some for him.

Another company in the US quoted $20-$30k for the program alone and a 18 month wait!

The main stumbling block seems to be the generation of the program. As far as he knows, he can have his current engine block laser scanned and then some CAD work to finish it off internaly I think. He has been quoted £9000 for this alone.

Idealy he would want to retain ownership of the program(s) and have a first one to test then a batch of maybe 5 blocks.

Ok, will mention to him later in the week,He has no lazer scanning equipment, but does a lot of cad/cam for Satalite builds.

Chris:

Im sure it would cost quite a bit more than a cast block but it hasnt put them off the idea. At the moment they're trying to get a rough price for such work and estimated turn around, etc.

Tony:

His time schedule is pretty relaxed I think. Would it be possible for me to give my mate your contact info (email or tel - whichever you prefer) and have them contact you as they know more about it than myself?

Cheers

Simon
