geoffvalenti
If you've got a pre VVT-i you can just pull the trac fuse. Post VVT-i its easier to just keep switching it off

Markie
Surely its just a wire or two that has to be disconnected from the switch and wired up togeather? I was going to look into this as remembering to switch it off all the time is a pain in the Anyone actually done this on a VVT-i?
geoffvalenti
On the VVT-i, its a momentary switch that turns it off. I dont think that by just bridging the connections it will stay off, although I haven't tried this. I'll try to remember to hold the switch in before I turn the ignition on next time I get into the car and see what happens. Although I don't know how the ECU would interpret the signal if the switch was permanantly pressed. If you remove the trac fuse on a VVT-i it interferes with the operation of the drive by wire throttle. Meaning that the trottle doesn't work for the first 2/3rds of its travel. It also increases the idle speed up to about 1200rpm.
Chris Wilson
I think Pete Betts should design an interface box to allow "sticky" settings for the stock traction control, so once off it stays off even when re starting the engine. Possible Pete??

Possible Pete?? I was trying to find the post Chris. I am sure someone had done this about three years ago.
