On the VVT-i, its a momentary switch that turns it off. I dont think that by just bridging the connections it will stay off, although I haven't tried this. I'll try to remember to hold the switch in before I turn the ignition on next time I get into the car and see what happens. Although I don't know how the ECU would interpret the signal if the switch was permanantly pressed.

 

If you remove the trac fuse on a VVT-i it interferes with the operation of the drive by wire throttle. Meaning that the trottle doesn't work for the first 2/3rds of its travel. It also increases the idle speed up to about 1200rpm.
