Guest darkblueturbo
New to the forum - my girlfriend's just bought a Phase2 MKiv N/A 5-speed manual from Japan a couple of weeks ago. Superb car, absolutely love it! Anyway, I've got a pair of clear front indicators, per those sold on whifbitz.com Has anyone else got these and if so (I'm a bit of a muppet when it comes to doing bits myself) how did you fit them? I had a quick look last night, but it was a bit dark and I didn't have any tools to hand to get them off. The existing indicators don't look as wide as the one's I've got and have just a single bulb in them. The one's I've received have a sidelight in the same unit as the indicator and the unit is much wider. Also, looking at the picture on whiftbitz.com, these seem to go in the front bumper whereas the one's on Jenny's car are in what I assume are air intakes below this. One of the new lights has wires from both lights going to a loom adapter. The other side just has the two bulbs with no wire. I assume I can just pop this bulb out and put the new one in, but what about the sidelight in the case. And where would I plug the loom adapter in on the other side. Sorry to make my first post such a long one, but the more I type the more it looks like I've bought items that aren't going to fit the car. Are the indicators in a different place on UK and Jap spec cars?? Thanks for any help you can give guys n gals. DBT
JustGav
Okay... I did them on mine... The easiest option by far is to take the headlights out... however did the clear indicators you have come with wiring harnesses... if not I would highly suggest you get them from toyota. I wired one of the bulbs into my side lights and the other into my indicators.. I believe there is a guide somewhere on here which someone put together.. Jurgen-Jm-Imports
should be a 5 mins job, couple of bolts hold them in think its 8mm or 10mm, just undo these and disconnect the clip on the indicator itself.

Guest darkblueturbo
Cheers for all the replies guys - we're off to the pub now for a friend's 30th, so I'll check out all the replies tomorrow and have another look at the lights. It's an L reg, so it's one of the early facelift models (phase 2). And I'll post some pictures up of it too. It's really clean for it's age. 110000km, bodywork and mechanicals are mint. Best one we saw when looking. I'm quite jealous. It's in better condition than my model year 2000 Scooby!! See you around, guys n gals. We'll be going to a meet in the Essex area soon. Clear indicators and all :-)

Guest darkblueturbo
Thanks - I think so (I'm a bit jealous to be honest!! LOL!) Got a full decat on it - HKS - and it sounds absolutely lovely. Other than that and the wheels (and soon, the indicator sidelights) it's totally standard. Was making a horrible smell last night when it got hot though! Mate reckons it was cos the aircon was laying dormant for however long the car was at the docks and they start to smell. Ran the air con for 10 minutes and the smell went and hasn't yet come back. It was bloody freezing at 10 o'clock last night with the AC on though!!
