michael
how can it freeze so fast?!?! Surely you'd die if you were out in it? I'm guessing it's the stalactite effect at work there, a gradual build-up of ice over a longer period to create that finished result? michael
christ must be absolutly freezing to freeze sea water.... Lake Geneva is freshwater
Supragal
Sure, but still madness! would still have to freeze pretty quick to form the "drips" like icicles the temp has to be well down. mind you plus it would be in contact with the ice layer below so that'd speed it up. Meh, who cares, it's crazy
Rob
Exactly how far is it, from Lake Geneva to the Finland Station? Name that tune.
Soop Dogg
West End Girls Pet Shop Boys. Saw some stuff similar to this in Minneapolis in winter. It gets down to -45 deg. F. (Yes, that's 77deg F of frost) When there's a cold snap, it might get up to -30F by lunchtime. Not a cloud in the sky, bright sunshine and -30F!! 3 to 4 feet of ice on the Mississippi River and cars driving across it using the slipways to get back on land. Bizarre!
