carl0s
Can someone give quick instructions for changing the fan shroud? I have a facelift car, original one is cracked on top. I was told there's no need to pull out the radiator or bumper off. How do I do it easily then? thanks.
Ian C
You'll have to take the top rad hose off so be prepared for some coolant loss or spillage, or drain some out if you are doing a proper job There are two spring clips on the 3 o clock and 9 o clock positions of the round part of the fan shroud - unclip them and the bottom half of the round section comes off which lets you get the whole shroud out upwards. There are about 7 or so 10mm bolts located in various hard to find areas you have to undo as well -Ian
Thorin
I reckon more like 4 & 8 o'clock http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=83646 Pic may help locate bolts?...
Ian C
I reckon more like 4 & 8 o'clock http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=83646 I was close enough considering it's been a couple of years since I took it off - stop being a complete clock

carl0s
Hmm. Thanks guys These 7 or 10 bolts.. how the hell am I going to get to them? Do I need to remove the undertray and go at it from beneath? Mine's facelift so there's a chance those screw holes are totally different. Facelift has the twin electric fans. I can just look at my new fan shroud I suppose, that might help. Easy job then or not?
flukey-lukey
Easy peasy... do as Ian suggested with taking the top rad pipe off and you should be able to reach the bolts from the top. Should take you no more than 30mins I would've thought
Thorin
Easy enough I'd say but yeah you'll definitely need to remove the undertray, unless you've got arms like an orangutan.
Jake
I've never removed the undertray to do the rad. It's all accessible from above.

Well, as it happens yes I do But I still think its easier from the top instead of messing about jacking the car up and removing the undertray
