Markie
Hi all, Don't know whether everyone has tried these after market warrantys before, but I used a good one with my MR2. I have now just had back a quote off them to cover my soop. They have quoted me on a 98 VVT-i TT 6speed. The warrenty covers all major parts such as ECU, Turbos, ABS, AC etc etc. Big list! You can use your own VAT reg'd garage for repairs also. They do pay out well from the experience I had with them on the MR2. Only thing you have to do is prove car is serviced regulary ie. With VAT reg'd garage stamps. Price I got was: PREMIUM RANGE: 6Months - £248 12Months - £312 24Months - £594 Price includes car hire stuff aswell.. Never used that thou. If you are interested, visit the web site: http://www.warrantywise.co.uk Not plugging them, just thought after having the quote back, someone else would be interested in it. SimonB
I've yet to see a warranty that's worth the paper its written on. They normally don't cover anything "subject to periodic replacement" which is just about everything. They also don't cover anything unless it has actually failed. I needed a new wheel bearing quite soon after I bought my car - it had too much play. The warranty wouldn't cover it because it hadn't actually failed. If it had fallen apart while I was driving down the motorway and written the car off no doubt they would have covered it! They also claimed it was something subject to periodic replacement! Total waste of money IMHO. You're better off saving the money you would have spent on it to cover any work you need to do.
