miko_supra
My dad said that the back left wheel was making a "metal to metal" sound whilst the car was moving, the noise was on/off, and increased with speed, but went away when the brakes were tapped. then came back again randomly. Whilst washing the car i noticed allot rusty spots on that same wheel and the entire inside had a film of rust on it. http://xs226.xs.to/xs226/08154/nissanwheel594.jpg http://xs226.xs.to/xs226/08154/nissanwheel2349.jpg I've checked the pads of course and these are fine (although the sound would have been worse when the brakes were touched if this was the problem) Any ideas what it could be? miko_supra
not to familiar with brakes. But why would it seizing cause it to create all this metalic dust?

Guest Garfy
you say the pads are ok, but are they low? it might be the wear tab, although that is a lot more metal dust than I would expect.
DannoSupra
The outside pad might be ok, but maybe the inside is downto metal... if they're a single pot calliper, the inside pad wears quicker... better stripping them down and have a good look... because it aint brake dust on those wheels.. its metal rusty dust

Jurgen-Jm-Imports
some aftermarket pads leave residue and they grind too... (you dont notice if you break hard) but i would check first the inners of the pads..
