marcAB10
I was just thinking about how naive i was when i crashed my last car. and thought it would be interesting to hear what cars anyone else has crashed. (and i mean written off or close to it) and the stories behind it. A couple of years ago, i wrote off my much loved Honda Delsol VTI(no hairdresser jokes please..lol). It all started on my daily commute road (Aberdeen,South Deeside Rd) on a very wet day with a lot of leaves and debris on the road.... bad start eh. Well as said. i was very naive and stupid and didn't think much of it, driving the road as if it were a summers day. basically after overtaking on a long straight with considerable speed i took a corner too fast and ended up spinning out and hitting a brick wall (i count myself very very lucky there was no oncoming traffic) thus totally writing the car off. I came out of it with no more than a cracked rib and a very valuable lesson. in hindsight, I'm glad it happened, as now i have a very good understanding of what NOT to do and not to be such an idiot in the first place. If anyone has any pics of there mishaps feel free..
RedM
Ford Escort. Same one, three times. Sodding thing was cursed.
juanchan
Fiat "Deathtrap Extraordinaire" Uno. It was an utterly cr*p car and it will take a lot to get me to buy another Fiat after it! Brakes were pathetic, somehow locked up and went in the back of the MX-5 in front. That rear bumper set me back a bit to be able to save my NCB! I drove the landy home with some scratches, bimmer was dragged backwards onto a lorry .... Second one was a friends one, which had a nasty altercation with a tree whilst off roading Yet to crash anything capable of over 100mph *touch wood*
SupraGirlie
I wrote off two saxos years ago when I first started driving, but then again it doesn't take much to write off a french car...
creative
I wrote off my 6 month old saxo. Was one of the early ones.. you know, the ones that like to lift a wheel when cornering hard. It was on a road I used to travel down everyday and take this corner at the same speed, except this time the sun hadnt got high enough and hadnt dried the road off after a morning frost. Back end came round, I caught it, then the front hit the grass and that was it, I was a passenger! The corner was/is an accident blackspot and the farmer had put up 4 HUGE metal cattle gates supported by mahoosive boulders to hold them up to stop people ending up down the embankment into the field. I took out 3 of the fences and pushed 2 of these boulders into the field. I was unhurt and no other people were involved which was lucky. The insurance company gave me a brand new replacement but due to everyone crashing the Mk1 saxo's citroen had made a few changes and it wasnt nearly as much fun! I learnt alot that day and it definately calmed me down and I have never had a crash since.

supra steveo
hell did i write my first car off a few people in the warminster area might know of a bridge leaving the town on the way to Salisbury (skew bridge i think? ), well i dont really remember much of it all i do know is that an ex girly i was seeing had uber p155ed me off, so being daft wee dick took it out on the poor 1.4 seat ibiza i had, i think i was on my way to pick up a mate from Salisbury, well i never even made it over that bridge, i hit an HGV head-on apparently the truck was doing 50 MPH and i know i was doing more than that, the police when they spoke to me said they couldn't work out the speed because there was no skid marks, and they said they thought because of the state of the truck and stuff they said i was doing over 70 MPH, (they were trying to get me to admit it so they could do me , the way they asked me what speed i was doing was as if they were talking to a 5 yr old ) any way during the chat in hospital i was laughing at them etc and the doctor spoke to one of them and told him i wasn't all there because of the head injury i had, so i had my licence revoked ( no points) and had nearly a year off work due to being injured and needing to see specialists and people that get paid lots of money, so seen a few of them and they said i was a nut case any way everything happens for a reason, a year later a week before the day i crashed my car I met a hot chick who is now my wife Lesson learned :- never drive the car when P155ed off

Homer
I've had a few Crashed my scrambler badly at 10yrs old after a 20 foot jump went wrong (still got a nice scar on my chin from that!) Crashed the first car aged 11. Rolled a Vaxhall Viva shortly after realising they can't go round 90degree corners at 40mph. Luckily my dad made sure I always wore a seatbelt and used a crash helmet. Pulled the roof back into shap with the aid of a tractor and a tree, then rolled it again 3 months later (terminal that time) Crashed a Fiat Strada into a tree at 13. Best thing for it really Crashed my Vauhall cavilier at 17. Not my fault that time, was swiped by a drunk driver. minor damage and no injuries Crashed my Supra at 28 aftern losing control in a 100 foot, 60mph drift. £4000 damage Crashed my BMW 518i a couple of weeks ago writing it off. Not my fault, women driver drove into me. Apart from the motorbike accident I've never been hurt in a crash (touch wood!)

Ewen
Kawasaki KH250, T-Boned an escort, squished. Yamaha LC250, T-Boned a Jag, squished. My brothers Alfasud, totally squished it during a test drive as I was going to buy it. Hit a bank front on, total 180 degree forward flip, landing quite neatly on all four wheels. After our checkup in casualty, I told him the brakes were sh**e so I wasnt going to buy it:d Rover SD1, rear wheels of an artic ran over the bonnet, squished. Datsun Saturdaynightspecial, burnt out due to too big a battery shorting out on the bonnet, crisped. Cavalier SRI130, slight biff on the front end. It survived. MkIII Supra, T-Boned an Escort, Escort squished, Supra survived.

JustGav
Oh dear... VW Passat - Had it up on two wheels after clipping a corner, came down a bit hard but was still okay (Same as homer, 90degree 40mph crap) VW Golf Mk1 - Not my fault, police drove into the back of me at a set of traffic lights (I got charged with dangerous driving, stood in court and asked how considering I was stationary at a set of red lights how I was at any fault..case dropped) Audi Quattro - My dad's... borrowed it to take the girlfriend out in the country, it burst into flames (Turned out to be a dodgy relay, and with the battery under the backseat resulted in the wiring loom shorting out and melting the rest of the insulation and causing a VERY large short), my mother was less than impressed as she wanted to use the car the next day. BMW e36 320i - My dad's (AGAIN ), and as it turns out it was the replacement for the Audi, and only had 100km's on the clock when I took it out to go get pizza, and came over the top of a hill to sudden see some idiot in a car pulling out of a t-junction. Struck it hard on the door as I tried to aim for an escape sliproad, thankfully I had turned so avoided a tbone incident, and rather shoved him up the road a bit and parked the car on the kurb...in the process taking out the wing, radiators, wheel, brake, steering rack, suspension, aircon..So my dad was a little annoyed given that I had pretty much written off two cars in two weeks... BMW M3 E36 - The big one... this is the one accident that REALLY hurt.. rolled an M3 round the top of the hairpin at kayalmi, just before the mineshaft. Top'n'tail rolled the car three times, and then it did the usual 5 rolls. OUCH I think was the phrase I used a few days later... broken ankles and legs, top of the windscreen came thru the helmet bit of facial damage. Was a pity, as the car had just been setup by BMW motorsport and was in fantastic shape, and caused a bit of a career change. Peugeot 106 - Similar to other stories, went out for a burn, hacking it round the backroads with some enthusiasm and discovered that a) a jeep cherokee and a pug don't fit down a narrow country lane b) jeep cherokee's are a lot higher and tougher than a little
Fish
I crashed my old Golf GTI - head on with an HGV on the route to route. Woke up to lots of claret, extra bends on my legs, fire engines, police, ambulances, helicopter. My poor little car was toast HGV was written off too, c'mon the golf
