Dragonball
Guys Need to get something to warn me of radar and Gatso's following last week's brush with plod (just waiting for the letter to drop through the door) Whats best to get Snooper S5? Beltronics Euro (which model?) Others? All info appreciated Cheers Paul
Alex
Geodesy or something like that has a map of them all which is updatable it uses GPS to work out where you are and alert you if your're closing in on one. But that can't help you with mobile camera and PC Plod targetting you from behind a hedge! Bell are the best normal scanners
fastisnice
Bell is the best detector at this moment..But remember there is nothing can detect a pig targetting you with a laser gun b- (Being the first to target) - As soon as i get a job and get my supra fixed i ll get a jammer and a Bell detector-If u hide the jammer in your dash(sensor on the front bumper)-There is nothing they can do about it-as they can't see you using it! I'm sure there wil be others disagree with me but thats what i'll do anyways...I can't risk my license to drive anymore...i hate buses
Dragonball
Seem to be a very good deal offering combinations of Snooper and diffusers available But who has which one and does anyone recommend? Cheers Paul:cool:
Matt Harwood
I can do you a laser diffuser for £199, (retails at £299). Has anyone got a Bel 550 that fancies doing a comparison against a Snooper S5? - (I'll loan someone an S5 for comparison)
Bradb
I got the top end Snooper her. Shite. £299 new. You can have it for £100 Waste of money. Go the Beltronics route my mate got one. 1st class. Steer clear of the snooper pony.
fastisnice
Bell is the best detector-Snooper i think does a REALLY good diffuser-I 'll definately have BOTH
Thorin
Don't bother with a radar detector, most police forces (in fact I believe all now) have ceased using the older radar based guns and use the more modern lasers. With these by the time your detector warns you about it, you've already been done. Get something like a Geodesy and a jammer, thats what I'll be getting when I can afford it. Matt Harwood
I agree the older Snoopers weren't too good but the S5 is supposed to be good. - Hence, I would like someone to do a comparison...
Dragonball
BradB - Whoa there boy! Which snooper you got - the S5? And why a pony (hence the 'whoa there boy' - geddit?...ah well - guess you had to be there) May well be interested - please give me first refusal! Matt - def interested in the diffuser - can you package it in with the Bell or S5 (assuming we can get a trial) How will you do that by the way? Anyone seen any publications with articles? Cheers Paul:cool:

The Bel will warn you if theres a laser up ahead so long as they target a car in front of you first. It picks up the reflected signals from the laser hitting the other car. If you are out on your own with no others cars around you then you will get picked off. I personally dont like the Geos as they warn you about every single camera out there, live or otherwise. So you spend your whole time pootling past cameras assuming they are live. BUT, they will at least warn you about the SPECS cameras in use in places like Northampton and Nottingham. Adam W
The GPS ones also warn you of the cameras that work from the "rumble strips" embedded in the road (normally the front facing blue ones) which radar detectors are useless about. GPS and laser jammer is the way to go IMO.

Dragonball
Sorry m8 - didn't make myself clear - any chance of providing both diffuser and detector and packaging the price? Cheers Paul:cool:
Matt Harwood
Ooo, I would think so, but I'd like someone to test the new Snooper against the Bel as I wouldn't want to sell you a crap unit. I can also supply the Morpheous Geodesey (gps) if you're interested.
Adam W
I have the Bel 550 wossname that I bought as part of that big group buy a while ago and I'd be quite happy to test them back-to-back. It might be easier to organise if you can find someone closer to you though.
Matt Harwood
You're the only one offering at the moment - Do you need them in the Bluebird
Adam W
The bluebird will be ideal cos I don't know if your thingy will work or not! There's a couple of "GATSO Classics" (grey, normal style ones) on my route to work, but not a lot else for me to try them against. Stick it in a Jiffy bag and put it in the post if you want, I'll post it back in a week.

More beeps and flashing lights than an amusement arcade ! c, If he gets a speeding ticket now, he'll never live it down! d, I'd love to hear his reasoning if he gets stopped by PC Plod:D Early days yet but how's it going so far Adam? mrboost
Snoopers!!!! I used to sell these and have owned many. The best radar detector by far is the S5.....Hardly any false alerts and the distance range is brilliant. The 815I is pants as it false alerts all the time. Gps Geodys is brillant to, but you still need a radar detector aswell. IMHO buy the gps one and then spend 80 quid on a s1 radar detctor. I have now sold all my radar detectors apart from the s1. It looks like the s5 it hardly false triggers and is pretty damn good. Hope it helps boost
