tooquicktostop
MR2 for me every time, the MX5 is a nice car but a turbo MR2 is in a different league IMO
RobSheffield
Mr2 Turbo Keeps you smiling nearly as much as the Supra

johnny g
I'm selling a MK2 Spider - rare and convertible Check my sig - just stretch a couple more £k
Todd
MX5 for me Owned all the quoted cars and MX5 comes out tops for fun every time but depends what floats your boat. If it's out right speed, Tubby wins, if it's handling and fun on the twistys then it's the MX5 IMO.
jaymdee
Hopefully picking up an MX5 in a few weeks
marcAB10
personally I'd go for the MR2. Just a better looking car IMO.
Gazboy
MR2T, hands down. MX5 is fun as it's abilities are lower so the limit is breached quicker and at lower speeds, and is more friendly on the limit but granny on the way to bingo in her Civic will be flashing you out of the way. Scott
Are you straight? If so MR2, its not the most manly car but its nowhere near as hairdressery as the MX5. I do love the MX5's handling though. Although the main reason why it handles like its on rails is because its underpowered. Much like the Mk1 MR2. Scott =op
snake
i'd get the MX5 its got a free hairdrier in the boot.

Todd
Although the main reason why it handles like its on rails is because its underpowered. I fear you are missing the point of the MX5, it's not about power. I've owned far more powerful cars than the MX5 that haven't been a fraction of the fun or give the same rewarding drive. In the past 6 years owned many jap sports car but the whole time I've been chopping and changing there has always been a 5 in the driveway at the same time
tomgeer
It's an easy choice, MR2 for a male, MX5 for a female

You can drive an MX5 round bends right on the edge without having to constantly worry about getting yourself into trouble. They are GREAT cars, i just wouldn't have one mainly because of all the stigma attached to them lol. Scott =op
AndyT
Driving fun = MX5. Womans car though
Dave17
I've had a MR2 for a year recently, sold to get the Supra, and i had a mx-5 before that. Way too hairdresser. MX-5 handles well, but so does the MR2, and the MR2 looks sleek and sexy, the MX5 is just dull, and every other car i see is an MX-5, way too common
Todd
oooooo i think i got a bite Not from me you wont Heard it all before, think folk tend to forget that the MR2 was a hairdressers car long before the MX5 but if you listen to crap like that, well we wouldn't be driving Supra either would we Anyhoo, nothing left to say from me now that the threads gone the way they usually do on here now

RICHARDA
I've had both and its the MX-5 for me. Go on the owners forum, don't think many are hairdressers, a lot of them are track day addicts though.

Guest Garfy
go for an MX5 turbo, I bought a BBR Turbo for the wife about 6 months ago, and I now drive that more than the supra, its just soooo much fun and the turbo gives it the power they normally lack, they have massive tunning potential to, I know a guy that is building one which he is hoping to get between 350 and 400bhp from!!!!!! that will be awsome!!!!!!!!!
