edge
Check the plugs, leads and distributor cap and arm firstly even if it was serviced. Does it seem like a missfire is happening at all?

Andy Blyth
I've had a similar problem with a previous car. It turned out to be a siezed piston in the brake caliper. Might be worth checking out.

Nic
im not the best techi whats a pison (do you mean piston) if not were can this be found The piston inside the brake caliper. It is a good suggestion, it could be the brakes that are binding on the disc. Did you leave the car stood with the hand brake on? If you did then it could be the brake shoes are binding on too. supraGZaerotop
i had i similar thing the other day or maybe it was just me, i havint really give the car a good go as yet havint had it long, its an import TT, came off a roundie on to some straight round and started pressing the throttle down not hard but just to increase the speed, felt slow, then pushed throttle right diwn to floor and still nothing, few miles up the road and gave the throttle the smallest of pokes and woof i was off second in pinned in seat, strange that, i been reading on here about the vsvs can play up, cars dun 79,000miles, any advise
Andy Blyth
im not the best techi whats a pison (do you mean piston) if not were can this be found Oops! Yeah, I meant piston. For pictures of them, see this thread. I guess the easiest way to see if this is the problem is to go for a short drive (a few miles maybe) without using the brakes too much. When you come to a stop, go round to each wheel and try and judge the temperature of the brakes. (be careful not to burn yourself!) Often, just getting your hand close to the brake disk will be enough. If one of the brakes is significantly hotter than the others, it could be pointing to a siezed piston. drnas78
will do that also will do what nick says tank it up and se ehow it goes and get brakes checked or pistons in brakes checked lets hope its nothing more then taht i that it could be some sort of gear box sensor or something like that
drnas78
Hi there Just a bit of an update, tanked her up fully twice now no ral diffrence, Checked gear box oil it is brown and not normal redish colour. I'm worried now that car's Gear box/ Torque Converetr may be on itsits way out or already has gone.
