:(

Last year I lost my beloved Old English Sheepdog; now today his old pal Duma has gone.

Came home from work to find he couldnt walk so rushed to vet. Had to put him down. It appears a blood clot had got him and no cure possible.

Gutted; the kids have gone away; the dog has gone, and now him.

I miss them.:(

RIP

Sorry to hear this Rich. It's always a hard time when you lose a close family pet. It's also hard for others who don't have pets to understand how close and attached you become to them.

Take care buddy and sorry once again. :(

Rich, perhaps it was for the best. If you were planning on taking him to Costa Rica, the trip might have been too much. Much better for them to stay at home, where they belong. :)

Yes thats true but he was going to live with my daughter; sadly not to be now, but you are right he would not have liked to move.

Thanks all

I know this community loves animals.

I hope my future plans will allow me to care for other animals.

I cant get another dog or cat right now because of this but one day I will.

We got another dog about 6-7 months after ours died, hit by a car. Trust me mate, the house feels so empty you just need to have another pet to keep you sane sometimes! :)

That's very sad Rich, I know how you must feel

It's very sad when you loose pets, they really become part of your family, you get very attached to them, but they have such a short life compared to us.

I still miss by old black labrador Boss, I had him since he was the size of a bag of sugar in my hand, he was my best mate and would go everywhere with me.

You can never replace pets, but they all have their own personality which we all remember so well with happy memories.

Rafiki and Duma are living the good life somewhere else now :)

Feck me I had to do exactly the same on Thursday night, same reason too, only my outcome so far is better...Sophie is still alive...her blood clot was has moved more into her left hind leg and she's on medication. It's hoped that with time she can either break it down or lodge it somewhere safe that she can bypass.

Anyway I know how we felt on Thursday night as we thought we would lose her too...

RIP Duma.

Fingers crossed for Sophie.
