This is the thing, I am with them as well and I am happy, however there are is a lot of noise on the board re sky and it shouldn't just be ignored IMHO.

you only ever hear about bad news. I bet if you looked at the number of bad threads people post up, then asked how many are insured with sky. there is a hell of alot more insured with them then people moaning.

Plus Jazz moans about every insurer and everything lol

Agreed but insurance isn't an easy thing to compare like for like on.

This particular thread isn't really very productive as Sky themselves state they aren't competitive for standard cars.

no thats not what im getting at its just to see what ppl feel about sky but saying that if the general population disagreed with the mods over things they would all disband then there wouldnt be a board to mod if you see my point its the the population that keep this place going not the mods and if there unhappy with something there opinion should count should it not

I will admit of course there is always negative stuff that makes headlines, where as postive stuff isn't as exciting :)

that accident was not my fault but no i did not tell them:(,

OMFG??

Talk about committing financial suicide....

If you had got a good quote would you have then told them about an accident that you had. They do ask if you have had "any" accidents!!

i rung 2 weeks ago to test the water they quoted me £1200 for a twin turbo asked if i was a member of any club i said no then got my mate to ring up the day after with all the same details except name and address with the same postcode but diffferant house they asked him if he was a member of any club he told them yes this one and guess what £1200 thort we were suposed to get some sort of discount not likely

hmm, I'd really like to see that one explained away. I've often wondered if they really give a discount or if its just bull. I was planning on trying them when my insurance is due as the price they quoted was good.

yea and this accident just recently happend on the 5th of march:blink: not being my fault and it was my other car that got hit, which is not insured through sky. The insurance was taken out last year on my micra with sky so not as if i lied mate because i told them everything when i took the policy unlike some members i know who lied to insureres about their points

makes no difference if its a different policy or not. I had a crash as a named driver and had to declare it on my policy. have you had a crash in last 5 yrs is the question, not have you had a crash on this policy.

Also if a claim isnt settled and you are renewing you still have to say it happened as the incident took place prior to you taking out the cover.

You must tell them about the accident whether it was fault or not. I had some stupid bitch run into a hire car whilst it was parked up two years ago. We claimed off her insurance and I wasn't even in the car, but I still tell the insurance company. Should you ever have a claim, it won't be hard for them to find out and they won't pay out. Give an insurance company an inch and they fook you up big time!!;)

well i never knew even though the accident recently happend you had to phone them up and tell them of a non fault claim. Well im not renewing with sky seeing as they added the clubs insurance scheme and even after adding 2 years, the price goes up by 20 pounds makes me laugh. I got a quote of 580 today told them everything and that inludes break down cover, hire car which sky were charging me extra 50 pounds for break down, so 580 compared to 700 is a big save and that company is not our club insurer:)

I think Sky's biggest problem is that they seem to have gotten too big for their own good.

Go on almost any car forum these days (certainly the Jap ones) and you'll find them there as the "recommended club insurer". :(

I have been with Sky for a year now, my renewal has come through and its abit steep so im looking round , gathering quotes and comparing policies;)

I have been happy with them so far but you only find out how good/bad they are when you claim...lol

as others have said i would like to see some evidence of the club discount on the paperwork if possible.
