It has extensive facilities for an action packed weekend and regularly hosts various scouts and cadet training and summer camping holidays as well as car and motorbike events. The camp is located on Mersea Island which is on the coast just outside of Colchester, Essex. The Island is separated from the mainland by one access road making the location unique. Its remote location makes Mersea a special trip to as its not a location you pass on your way to somewhere else, it has its own purpose and is therefore fantastic for holding outside events that attract many visitors and noise. For those of you not on foot !! From A12 Northbound turn off for Colchester Central At roundabout take 2nd exit At next roundabout take 3rd exit At next roundabout take 3rd exit (up hill) At next roundabout take 1st exit (into outside lane) At next roundabout take 3rd exit onto B1025 Follow for 9 miles, cross onto island and take left turn fork towards East Mersea Take 3rd turning on right, following lane until entrance to camp The venue is accessed via the Mersea Islands B road. JAE will be signposted from all major routes surrounding Colchester so whilst it’s a remote location, you'll find it easy to locate with our road markings which will be in operation at the time of the event. Once over the ''bridge'' you'll take the first exit immediately left after the bridge leading you to the East side of Mersea. Follow this twisty country lane for 1.5miles and you'll soon reach the venue entrance. The site itself is 62 acres and has a wealth of events under its belt. As such it caters for all kinds of visitors from activity hunters, camping enthusiasts and clubs which present camping experiences. It is this element that makes Mersea the ideal location for JAE and the club interaction that makes JAE so special. DamanC
The drinks will be there. The reason for the BBQ thought is because there is a large canteen with "real" dinner ladies on hand. Im still undecided thou

Sean1933
In regards to the camping space, is it open to just mkiv members or friend too? Only reason i ask is because i will almost certainly be coming with an Evo 6, Celica GT4 and an EK9 Civic Type R.
DamanC
Places are limited. These will be offered to club members first, if we find we need to fill the space then friends will be invited
