Homer
Better tell virgin that then. As far as i know we are all being upgraded to 50mb in the summer. Scott =op Ignorance is bliss, at least for the ISP's Latency, contention ratio's, concurent connections, port throttleing all play a factor. We might get high burst rates until they start all the throttling, ip blocks, packet filering, etc. For example, can you display a shot of speedtest results to show you have a true 20mb connection? Right now I bet you cannot get anywhere near your connection from a single site - even one with the capability to deliver it. Newsgroups are the only "sure" place to get high download speeds in the near future but I doubt it'll be long before attempts to throttle those begin. Oh i completely agree, what i don't agree with is that distance is a factor Throttling is a PITA, especially for me as i download a fair bit monthly so i'm on a constant "throttle" lol. carl0s
I've recently upgraded from 4meg to 20meg and it's brilliant. I can download a 4.7gig dvd in about 40mins. And they're upgrading me to 50meg in June for no extra cost! Crikey that's fast. Is that cable? They haven't cabled our area, and last I looked the upstream speed was pitiful

Sheefa
Virgin Media have recently announce they're planning to upgrade existing customers to 10mb Wicked. Think they've rolled it out in a few areas already but not sure when W.Mids upgrade is.
ivan
There's a schedule here Greg. I think they're aiming to have everyone upgraded by the Summer.
