superpaulwilson
As above really. I've just purchased some OEM spats and they should be arriving soon. I know I need to remove the old black trim and they fix to the inner arch but how do they fix to the rear quarter? All my search efforts seem to be for aftermarket spats that require tigerseal. colsoop
Trim tape or sikaflex (for a permanent fit).

flukey-lukey
Oh and theres the 10mm bolt that goes underneath. You know about that don't you?
paul mac
is there a non-permanent or semi-permanent option? only if you go for the "Halfords ram raid look" if you want them to look decent (and part of the car) you need them fitting properly shouldn't really be in tech as well more supra chat me thinks
superpaulwilson
Oh and theres the 10mm bolt that goes underneath. You know about that don't you? No i don't. is there a hole there or do i need to make one?
flukey-lukey
No i don't. is there a hole there or do i need to make one? There should be a hole on the car yes. Are they genuine OEM spats or copies? genuine ones will have a bracket on the inside that the bolt goes through to attach to the car. If they're copies and made of fibreglass then you'll have to use something strong to fix them on like sikaflex as suggested before

I was going to use the sealent stuff but with the weather being the way it is not had a chance:( Is the tape pretty instant, bolt on, stick the tape down and drive away? How easy is something like sikaflex or tigerseal to use? Will I have time to get it lined up perfectly or does it grip very quick?

pete_TT
Tigerseal is easy enuff to use, u'll have plenty of time to line it up as it takes a few hours to set properly. Though once it does set its not going anywhere.
miko_supra
i used some tape on mine and it fitted fine, just make sure both surfaces and nice and clean
Ark
Real OEM spats use three screws in the wheel arch, one bolt at the bottom, and spongy trim tape round the edges. So there you go.
