What should my wage be?

I love these threads, chap posts asking how much people think he should be paid for a particular role and everyone sees it as an excuse to post how much they get paid for completely different ones.

:D

Sorry, I didn't mean to hi-jack and wasn't bragging (I don't think it's clever to earn a bit more but have zero job security). I was just saying that £330 per week seems very poor for a job that requires a university degree when spuds like me with no qualifications can earn a fair bit more. The thread-drift continued because I answered questions people then asked me. Perhaps I should have ignored them?

Can't win either way.

I agree completely, as a fellow uneducated scumbag I also take pride in the fact that I'm doing OK but at the same time these threads alway turn into a p*ssing competition so I thought I'd chirp up before they got carried away. Your input was valid enough IMO, it didn't help the chap but it did ridicule a student type so it's fine by me ;)

I'm permanent and I don't have any job security to speak of, I think that kind of thing is pretty hard to get these days in IT.

Possibly, but if people said what they did in this thread, it'd combine the two...

OK. I work for a crap company, doing a boring job on a not so good wage which has just increased but I hate it so am leaving anyway for something more exciting. Enough detail mate? :)

Hmmm, I'm with you here... I'm an IT bod as well, and I'm doing well I feel..but like you, I've done it the hard way...dropped out of uni and slogged it. I would have just figured a uni-grad would earn slightly more. Or is it because the IT field is just skewed?

Nope, as that doesn't help people on the thread ;) - They don't know what you do... (Or should this get moved to members if we're going to start mentioning companies, or is it only Volvo Drivers who worry about that sort of thing? ;))

I love the way "executive" is being used more and more these days to make jobs sound like they are important :) Straight out of college / uni and into an "executive" role - they can live like kings!

KINGS!!!!!!!!
