marc_p Posted April 2, 2008 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Went to put my double din 7" screen headunit in last night, everything went fine (after accidently ripping the gearstick gaiter) until I went to put the dash panel back on and it wouldn't fit over the head unit *que effing and blinding stage 1*, so I thought no worries i will just sand the edges of the dash panel down. 2 hours of sanding later still doesn't work *effing and blinding stage 2* so i think it's time to get the big guns out. So I went through every tool in the F***ing garage in some sort of massacre frenzy and then gave up. So to cut a long story short, I need a new dash, centre glovebox(somehow managed to break this in the process), leather gearstick gaiter and headunit:( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Damn, it was a Kenwood 6029 I fitted but was just a bit tight along the top. Not sure what to suggest apart from a severe going over with a dremmel type thing and one of those cutting blades to try and get a neat finish. Supra-Dupra Posted April 2, 2008 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I hade the exact same problem with the GF's ST202 celica, took out a file pulled off the handle, popped it into the drill and 5 mins later it fitted (and doesnt look rough) edit: also helps to soak the dash panel in boiling water for a few mins, or at the least pour some over it.
