Dann
On my MK4 N/A the spark plugs are run off a old fashioned distributer. Now the TT has coil packs above the plugs. Can I get TT coil packs and fit to my N/A thus getting shut of the old style distributer. What is involved in doing this ? dann
kylestt
you will need something to monitor the cam position for timing. The NA uses the distributor which is run off the exhaust camshaft. If you take this out and goto coilpacks you will need TT camshaft sensor and crank angle sensor and then a TT harness for the plugs. Its not as easy said then done mate. bromy
It has been done using a CPS from a Mk3 Supra and the AEM ECU. There could be a possibility of the EMU been able to control the timing. More trouble than it is worth IMO, why do you want to go down this road?
Dann
I was just thinking that coil packs off a tt would be better for performance and better in general than a old fashioned distributer. I want to stay N/A but go for as much hp as i can staying N/A.
JustGav
Not going to gain much through this route to be honest..the existing system is more than adequate.
