steb9780
'Only' an extra 100bhp Suppose it's a start.... Love the wheels tho Yes but I think the point people are making is that Nissan didn't want it to be tuneable. 100bhp's not bad for a couple of months work. marbleapple
Why would they not want it to be tuneable? I don't understand the thought behind it. Surely the whole reason for the Skylines success was due to the huge fan base that loved (and still love) to modify the car.
marcAB10
"Looks like Nissan’s efforts to stop people tuning the GT-R are working well then..." i don't get it!! the skylines before, or say the supra, would still be stunning performance cars if they were 'un tuneable' but i doubt they would be the icons they are today. creating thousands of nissan followers through the love of there project cars. i just can't see why they would try and make this car 'un tuneable' but i suppose it doesn't really matter seeing as it's allready been done. GO AMUSE lol EDIT: Doh! i was a little late there marbleapple

marcAB10
TBH it's the modding 'scene' that damages the Supras image. i can see what your saying. the modding 'scene' may pull in thousands of buyers but it also may push thousands away. still i reckon the people looking the most forward to the new GTR launch would be the tuneing scene but i doubt there the people who could afford to buy one... Gaz Walker
One of my favourite Japanese companies. I love that car

Not to be lighting the blue touch paper and just out of my own interest. How many stock supras are there?I thought the fact that the Supra is so tuneable is part of the reason that it is so popular? Oh apart from the fact that it just looks the nuts. I'm only asking as i would have thought that the modding scene has kept the Supra in the public eye and got different generations into it? Every time you look in Banzai or Japanese performance theres a Supra single turbo looking the bollox:d. Only my 2p's worth but i've had a few shandies so i'm waiting to get shot down in flames:d

NSX's as new were 40% more expensive than Supras, now they are 300-400% more valuable, year for year.
Kirk
I dint realy like the gtr at 1st but its had its effect on me and I think its bad ass! (Although in my head supras are so much better ) Only thing I don't approve of is the spoiler, doesn't suit it as well as the stock one in my opinion. But 102hp already is impressive, shifts a lot more than what it already does! Awesome work I must say. Don't they have like a wheel sensor which stops you from changing the stock wheels or something? Alex C
Nice. I think Nissan are being a bit coy with the power figure though, they're more like 520Bhp in stock form so I've heard so that's 'only' another 60Hp, with is probably about right for an exhaust, slight boost increase & re-map. I bet its devastating through the gears.

Matt H
simple: they took the cats out. they probably havent tuned the engine whatsoever, maybe just mapped it to match the cat removal
Alex
The Japanese Govt. wouldn't let them build such a powerful car if it wasn't incredibly difficult/expensive to extract more out of it and again have ludicrously powered GTR's storming the Wangan. So Nissan fitted an anti tamper ECU and said the warrenty would be recinded if it was modded in any way. Wealthy people won't give a hoot about the warrenty and the same people can afford to completely replace the ECU and other systems.... I like the spoiler on that one. Reminds me a bit of the reventon. Looks absolutely stunning. If I was seriously rich, and into my cars more I'd get one. Toyota has nothing that compares on the same level to that. Only thing though, it looks too safe, too perfect.. too clean.. lol
