Train Causing Cracks?

Ok Not sure if i can do anything about this but....

Basicly we have a "minor" train station at the bottom of our road, and at 11pm every night a loaded freight train goes past and you can feel the house shaking (rumbling on the ground, hearing tv on wall slightly shaking and feeling the shaking when sitting on the sofa -its very noticable) over time this looks like its causing cracks in the plaster in the house (which is worrying)

The thing is my wife has owned the house we are living in for a while now before the train station at the end of the road was built (a good 300 yards away and down a hill), now do you think i may be able to get the council to come and repair the damage to our house? as damage is being caused by something out of our control ?

Is your wife, like, 180 years old? I can't believe there are new stations and lines being built these days, outside of the DLR?
