Blown gasket of some kind!

ADD

Recommended Posts

I have a horrible blown exhaust sound coming from under the turbo shield, when i try to boot it slightly the boost increases but the car doesn't react. I Put my foot once this morning at it hit 1.2bar but very slowly accelarated! could this be a major problem? or is it likely to be the symptoms of maybe a cracked manifold?

Any help would be much appreciated!

This is probably going to tempt fate, with regards to the expensive "O" ring manifold gaskets, i found a cheap solution at my local parts place, an exhaust gasket, they work out at under £2 each ( i will try and hunt down the part no for anyone interested, mine have been in for a year now, and i did carefully check them out, took them apart to check construction, i also checked out how they crush against the Toyota one.

Sure sounds like a blown turbo wastegate housing gasket, or turbo to manifold O ring. As they are very expensive from Toyota some people try and re use the old ones, which can cause trouble...

This would cause a lack of performance i gather? since ive had the hybrids on, it has always made a 'boost leak' noise under on full boost. Thanks chris.
