Chris Wilson
The first question should be "Who is paying?", not what film to see. Start as you mean to go on my boy....

Whitesupraboy2
films like 'Good Luck Chuck' are not an appropriate comedy
Havard
In my opinion going to the theatre is a cliche and boring idea for a first date, to me its strange to sit in the dark with a person I haven't gotten to know too well. Watch a movie at your place instead, just tell her that there isnt anything at the cinema that you really want to watch. Then its easier to escalate from there. Just make it plainly obvious that you want to get her back to your place so you can have a look at ther goods!! Ice skating is my choice for a first date, also gives you an excuse to hold hands! which may lead to other things later Smooth!! Like it.... Vicki and I went to the Cinema for our first date and watched Wolf (13 years ago). It seemed a good way to broach the subject of my passion for urinating outdoors!! H. juanchan
Gotta agree with the cinema being a bad first date idea. It's kind of like a cop-out. You don't need to bother interacting or talking to her. You can be in her company for 2-2.5 hours and barely say more than a few sentences to her. Rather pointless IMO. The only time it might be a good idea is to go on a Saturday afternoon then spend the evening together, then if you get really stuck for conversation, you can rely on discussing the film
Scoboblio
I've heard that the cinema is a good idea because; A: You get to avoid embarassing silences for at least a couple of hours. B: You have something to talk about (the film) as soon as you come out. Personally I don't like it though, it's a bit too obvious somehow.... I think relaxed walks and chats etc over a drink are far better. Oh and good luck!

We had a couple of drinks before the film and I made sure we went to a cinema a good 20 miles away so we could chat in the car. I do agree that it is slightly lacking in imagination, however. H. I'd never have thought of that I took one girl to a pretty expensive restaurant for a first date and we ended up in our usual skanky student nightclub even though we'd finished uni. mathew
went really good:) the film was a bit extreme for a first date kinda thing, and managed to spill my box of revels on her lol. went to the casino for a couple of hours afterwards aswell and had a meal there. no awkward silences and found her really easy to get on with in person aswell. she's currently living in london working as an air hostess but shes hoping to move back to llanelli soon and only work on short haul flights a few times a month so if anything was to happen it wont be a long distance thing. heres a pic of her,im sure she wont mind me posting this edit : that aint me in the pic with her
