My Dad's car is better than your Dad's car...

Can't imagine, but a couple of years back in Hull, our cops had the full on Escort cossie which they managed to right off 3 of them - lol. Then they had a Scooby - wrote off once or twice I think.

They only got the standard protons with LPG now - that'll teach em :D

Oh no they haven't ;)

A few scooby's, a couple of evo 8's, at least one Octavia RS, also had a V8 MG a while back on test. Several volvo's, bmw's, and various other covert stuff!

LOL this thread is great !

First car i can "remember" my dad having was a Vauxhall Chevette.......sadly it was smashed when i was in the back, 3 years old, and some wan*er in a Capri decided to not stop at a roundabout and slam clean into the rear quarter of us while my mum was driving. End of Chevette........

Then it was an A-Reg Brown Cavalier Saloon........oh classy lol.........a C-Reg white Rover 214si (the boxey shaped ones) and then a series of other sadly no longer made quality automobiles :D

A story about a fathers' car

By WL (Aged 6)

*Obiwan style*

Ben: "luke, This used to belong to your father."

(Slips in to the Supra and starts her up)

Ben: "One day Luke you will be able to wield her in much the same way as your father did before you"

(Revs engine)

Luke: "You knew my father ?"

(Ben is sitting in the drivers seat just revving the engine, staring into the mid distance)

Luke: "Tell me about my Father, Ben"

(Ben's eyes close and he lowers the revs)

Ben: "Can you feel it Luke ? It flows through you."

Luke: "How did my father die, Ben ?"

(Ben engages a gear and releases the handbrake, excessive but controlled pressure is applied to the accelerator and the Supra flies forward. Luke is pinned to the seat.)

Ben: "Just feel the Force, Luke."

Luke: "FFS Ben, are you listening to me ?"

(Ben sharply turns the sterring wheel and the Supra spins 180 degress and then takes off again.)

Ben: "Its is skill such as this that you will need if you are to be come a 'Driver', Luke."

(Luke is struggling to move his head due to the speed.)

Luke: "Driver ? I thought I was going to be a Jedi ?"

(Ben smiles)

Ben: "Try this sucker first and tell me what you would rather be . . . !"

(Ben wellies it and the scene fades as they speed over the horizon . . .)

The end.

(Anyone fancy a pint ? ;) )

First car I remember my dad having was a burgundy thing - no idea what it was.

Next was a Gold T reg granada - you had to park it on an angle or petrol leaked out of it

Then we had a D reg silvery granada - got the nice 2.8 engine and a dodgy gearbox

From there he had a N reg 2.5 Mondeo with a death squeal on start up

Now he has a V reg 4.7 Grand Cherokee which likes new parts and has a iffy heater :D

All in all my dad hasn't done well with reliability, but he does enjoy hooning around in the Jeep :)

My dads always been a bit boring with cars and has had estates (due to two dogs and the such), my mum has tended to have the decent cars. Shes had, to name but a few:

RS2000 (two of em)

XR2I Fiesta

Old Lotus (cant remember model).

She currently drives a new Mini Cooper S. Great fun to drive. Nippy and holds to the road like glue.

Me and my dad are after importing a 67 Mustang to do up or old (80s) corvette.
