halllon
Dear all, I have a 6-speed box on my floor, and I want to find out whether it's a V160 or V161. The box have the following numbers (some cast, some print and some written there, i guess by the breaker): 233.0.0333.90 233.0.0171.91 233.0.0330.91 38/6 B50 How do I find out whether my box is a V160 or a V161? All help appreciated!
merckx
I suppose if you measured accurately the input/output ratios, this would be fairly easy to do with the gearbox off the car. You could fit a large cardboard or metal disc to each shaft to enable the rotational angle to be measured accurately. I did a search and I couldn't find anything else, one person actually said that there were no identifying numbers on them. V160 First Gear: 3.830:1 Second Gear: 2.360:1 Third Gear: 1.680:1 Fourth Gear: 1.310:1 Fifth Gear: 1:1 Sixth Gear: 0.790:1 V161 First Gear: 3.724:1 Second Gear: 2.246:1 Third Gear: 1.541:1 Fourth Gear: 1.205:1 Fifth Gear: 1:1 Sixth Gear: 0.818:
