Hey guys i purchased a property back in 2006 and the lady who dealt with my case was new. She made the 1st mistake by putting the property price incorrect after i told her 5 times its wrong. Then becuase of this they over charged me 800 pounds which they sent to the mortgage company and took me a battle to get back. Now i realise the stupid B*tch didnt notify the management company of a change of ownership and a £900 of managments fees from the old owner are still unpaid and the management company want there money. For the past 3months ive contacted them emailed then and no 1 has got back to me ive had one letter that i didnt understand asked them what it was told me they will call me back and guess what nothing. Im getting frustated, I need to change the windows on my flat but the managemnet company wount let me becuase of this excisting bill. Can i take legal against these c*nts or at least threaten them im jus sick and tired of there mistakes and there absolute no effort in sorting it out. What do you guys think?

I know, sorry. Well, architects have the ARB who you can complain too, if you feel they are unprofessional and if successful, they can be fined or even struck off, so I imagine solicitors have the same. Perhaps the Law Society.

I would certainly write to them with your list of grievances. Research your options with complaining to their professional body, Law Society, Inner Temple, whoever, you'll have to google it to find out, then when you know that, you can put that in the letter. i.e. unless they sort it out, reimburse you etc, you'll be making a formal complaint to their professional body.

Remember, these are Professionals, like doctors and architects, they have a recognised code of conduct and a duty of care to the public to behave accordingly. They can be held accountable if they fail in that duty, which from your post above, it seems they have. They, like architects, may also have an independant arbitration service.

Their letters may well be written in "legal-ese" which is very hard to understand so get help if you don't understand anything they've written.

Really well said by Rob IMO.

Also, just so you know, you can sue solicitors for professional negligence and there are a number of good firms that I can recommend in this area.

Complain to the Law Society about a solicitor???? Best of luck. I was overcharged by one of the crooked, parasitic pieces of s**t a few years ago. I eventually got the bills reduced by 50% by complaining to the Law Society but it was a long, hard slog .... and, no, I don't like the legal profession. :)

But you did eventually get your bill reduced by 50% by going to the Law Society? Whilst a pain it suggests the system works?
